Starting with OS Mojave, a thumbnail of the screenshot will appear in the bottom right corner of your screen. The exact name depends on the time the screenshot was taken and the calendar settings of your Mac. The name of the file will be something like “Screen Shot yyyy-mm-dd at 4.35.02PM.png”. For Macs with operating system versions earlier than Mojave, the screenshot will be immediately saved in the default location.
